Students Unplug and Play in Garden City, Idaho

Students attending Garden City, Idaho, Title I funded schools ended their school year with new toys and games – provided by Toys for Tots – to enrich their minds as they head toward summer break!

Lewis & Clark Elementary School hosted a toy distribution event during their annual Field Day for the students! The school’s library was converted into a toy store to organize over 1,000 brand-new toys for the students to browse through and take home!

“This has just been a tremendous day for our kids,” one teacher said. “They already love Field Day and, thanks to Astegos and Toys for Tots, they have even more to be happy about today.”

Across the county, Ross Elementary School also hosted a toy distribution event for 240 of their students as part of their Unplug and Play initiative. The event, which was on the last day of school, reminded students that it’s time to turn off electronics and step outside to play! Each student had the opportunity to choose three brand-new toys.

A local Marine and his family volunteered for the event, and they brought tremendous warmth and excitement to the event!

“My brother is a Marine, too!” said one excited child. “I can’t wait to tell him I met another Marine and got new toys.”

Toys for Tots is a year-round force for good!
